The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has committed to enhance its resources, technology, and promotional efforts in providing efficient productivity training and technical support to employees and businesses.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma said the productivity programs represent the department's commitment to assisting enterprises and workers in enhancing their daily proficiency and capability to generate goods and services.
“While we are primarily known to the public for our role in adjusting regional minimum wage rates, we should always be reminded that we have an equally important function of promoting enterprise and labor productivity,” Laguesma said during the 2024 Planning Exercise of the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) and the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) on Wednesday, Mar. 6.
The planning exercise included training sessions on the updated DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-AMP) as well as a discourse on strengthening labor relations with mediator-arbitrators and technical staff from DOLE Regional Offices.
The Mindanao Productivity Project Portfolio's ultimate design, which seeks to provide a range of programs and support through collaboration among DOLE Regional Offices to enhance productivity and foster inclusive growth in Mindanao, was also showcased at the event.
