CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – A couple was injured after a 10-wheel truck rammed a furniture shop here on Monday, March 11.

Police Lt. Col. Ernesto DC Nebalasca Jr., chief of police, identified the victims as Artemio, 71, and Violeta, 52.
Investigation said the driver of the truck, Alfie Saquing, 30, fell asleep and lost control of the steering wheel.
The truck rammed the furniture shop and two parked tricycles and a car.
Police Staff Sgt. Renard Ricardo, case investigator, said the truck loaded with corn was on its way to this city when the accident happened.
Ricardo said Saquing was tested for alcohol and was not drunk at the time of the accident.
Saquing is under police custody and faces appropriate case. Damage to property is yet to be determined.
