Operatives of Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) arrested a man after he stabbed his childhood friend to death in Barangay Tangos-South, Navotas City, on Saturday, March 9.

Police identified the suspect as Victor Valentin, 43, a resident of Barangay Tangos-South, Navotas City.
According to NCPS chief Col. Mario Cortes, the victim, Alfredo Libao Jr., was walking along an alley with his child around 9 a.m. last Saturday when they encountered the suspect.
The argument broke out between the two men which eventually led to the stabbing of the victim.
“Umabot po sa pananaksak kasi napuno na rin itong ating suspek dahil binu-bully daw nga siya nitong biktima. Sa kanilang almost years na rin na halos magkapitbahay naman sila, palagi raw siyang binu-bully at humantong pa sa panunutok daw ng baril sa kaniya (The stabbing occurred because the suspect was reportedly fed up with being bullied by the victim. Despite being neighbors for years, the victim allegedly bullied the suspect, even threatening him with a gun),” the police chief said.
Police said that the victim was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to multiple stab wounds in the neck and body.
The suspect was apprehended in a follow-up operation, and the weapon he used in the stabbing was recovered.
The suspect will face a murder case under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code.
