Las Piñas public tertiary school celebrates 26th founding anniversary

Las Piñas City's public tertiary institution, Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College (DFCAMCLP), celebrated its 26th founding anniversary on Monday, March 11.
Las Piñas Vice- Mayor April Aguilar said the regular Monday flag-raising ceremony was hosted by the DFCMCLP in celebration of its founding anniversary.
The program highlighted the college's role in local education and community development.
Aguilar said the school, the sole public tertiary institution in Las Piñas,was founded in 1998 by her father, the late Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar, to give the city residents access to free high-quality education.
The vice-mayor said the school was named after his grandfather who was also a former mayor of the city, Filemon C. Aguilar.
Aguilar said the institution stands as a pillar of their family’s dedication to empowering the local community through accessible education.
She said over the years, the college has become renowned for its exceptional academic programs, particularly in the field of accounting, producing scholars who have achieved success both locally and internationally.
