Mayor Honey invites Tondo residents to 'Kalinga sa Maynila' on March 13

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan is inviting Tondo residents to join “Kalinga sa Maynila" slated on Wednesday, March 13.
The mayor encouraged Manileños to avail of the Manila City Hall's basic services offered in Kalinga fora.
She said this week's 'Kalinga' will be held from 8 a.m. onward on Moriones Street covering Barangays 43, 46, and 47.
Apart from free medical consultation, the mayor noted the other services available for residents such as basic medicines, deworming, rabies vaccination, civil registry, tricycle, and parking registration, identification card registrations for persons with disability, solo parents, and senior citizens, clearing and flushing operations, payment for water and electricity, building permit inquiries, notary services, and police clearance.
Even unemployment will be addressed with the job fairs onsite, she said.
Among others, the heads of various departments, bureaus and offices will attend to directly address the concerns of the participating community members, including the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) Department of Public Services-Manila (DPS), Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW), Manila Police District (MPD), Manila Barangay Bureau, Manila Civil Registry Office, City Legal Office, Manila Health Department, Manila Department of Social Welfare, Public Employment Service Office - City of Manila, Manila OSCA, Manila Veterinary Inspection Board, and the City Treasurer’s Office Manila.
The local chief executive said she will bring heads of these offices, bureaus, and departments because they are the ones that are usually being sought for certain concerns by those who go to the Manila City Hall.
At every Kalinga forum, the lady mayor entertains all inquiries and requests for assistance in a barred discussion with the residents of the participating barangays.
The program, which had been going around the barangays since Lacuna-Pangan assumed office, is meant to bring right at the doorsteps of the communities the basic services being offered for free by the city government of Manila.
“This way, the residents get to save on precious time and transportation money as they no longer have to go to Manila City Hall,” she said.
