Girl, 2, mauled by dogs in Samar

TACLOBAN CITY – A two-year-old girl is fighting for her life in a hospital here after she was mauled by at least four dogs in a farm in Barangay Timbangan, Calbiga, Samar.

The victim was found bathing in blood, her ears removed, and part of her flesh peeled off by barangay tanods or watchmen who heard the dogs barking and the girl crying.

She was brought to the Calbiga Rural Health Unit and  subsequently referred to a hospital here for further treatment. 

The victim was left with her grandparents by her mother who went to run some errands. However, she went to a nearby farmland where she was bitten by four unleashed dogs.  

The owner of the dogs agreed to pay her medical expenses.
