Dalipe urges solons to join Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fairs

Majority Leader Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe has encouraged his fellow members of the House of Representatives (HOR) to participate in the Marcos administration's Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fairs (BPSF).

“We are even encouraging all other members of the HOR to join all these BPSF, kasi nanduon na po iyong, hindi lang isa, dalawa o tatlong departamento ang nanduon, marami pong (because it is already there, not just one, two, or three departments, there are many) national agencies and it is a very good chance for the House members to observe directly,” Dalipe said in a press conference on Monday, March 11.

“So bilang mambabatas nakikita po ng mga 
congressman directly iyong (So as legislators, congressmen see directly the) actual implementation and they can observe that and probably make more refinements that will benefit the Filipino people in the next fiscal year, the next budget which is the 2025 budget,” he added.

By participating in these massive service fairs, Dalipe said the House can continue exercising its oversight function over the different departments that they supported during the hearings on the national budget.

“We will continue to monitor and most especially we will come up with decisions that will help us improve, particularly in the crafting of the next year’s budget,” he noted.

The recently concluded BPSF in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro over the weekend was attended by 20 Luzon-based congressmen.

A previous fair held in Sultan Kudarat was attended by nearly 50 lawmakers from all over Mindanao.

Dalipe, who represents the second district of Zamboanga City, says the recent BPSF in Mindoro is proof that the so-called “whole of government” approach is effective in rolling out services at the “grass root level”.

“We’re very happy that President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. (PBBM) is continuing...to reach out to our constituents in the provinces,” the ranking lawmaker emphasized.

“And the HOR under the leadership of Speaker Martin Romualdez is in full support of PBBM’s program in reaching out to the different communities in the provinces,” he further said.

The Oriental Mindoro BPSF saw the distribution of a total of P1.2 billion worth of cash aid and other government livelihood programs.

The next BPSF will be held next week in Agusan del Norte.
