Police Capt. Ignacio Javier, deputy chief of the Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police Station, identified the victim on Sunday, March 10, as Allen Palmos, 29, a dispatcher, of Fortune Towne, Barangay Estefania here.
Palmos' hands were tied with a black cable tie and his head was wrapped in his own T-shirt when he was found by a minor gathering wood.
Javier said they could not determine the injuries of the victim as his head was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Palmos left his house on March 7 and even called his sister on Friday morning, March 8. His family did not bother to look for him as he would usually just come home after leaving the house.
However, when his sister saw a social media post about the death of an unidentified person on Saturday, she immediately identified him through his tattoo. She confirmed his identity on Saturday night after seeing his clothes he wore the last time she saw him alive.
Javier said they could not yet establish the motive of the killing as the family requested privacy. He, however, assured that they will continue to investigate the incident.
