Juami Tiongson and top rookie pick Stephen Holt joined hands to lead Terrafirma past Converge, 107-99, in the elimination round of the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday, March 1.

In a battle of cellar dwellers from last conference, the Dyip came all the way through to enter the win column early on.
Holt and Tiongson took turns to carry the fight for the Dyip with 30 and 27 points, respectively, while three other players also finished in double figures to support the cause.
Though Terrafirma had the upper hand almost entirely through the match, Converge went for a last-gasp fightback with a 6-2 run which cut down the Dyip’s advantage to just a single digit in the final minute.
The Dyip, left with a bitter taste to their mouth following their last standoff in the previous conference that saw them collapse in endgame, had the last laugh this time as Tiongson sealed the win with a last-second drive to the basket.
“We worked out the shooting, the skills in the training. Nagbunga namin in this game. Good thing naayos namin ‘yung depensa namin. Kung sa tao-tao talo kami malalaki sila, but I think we can do this kung team defense,” said Terrafirma coach Johnedel Cardel.
Alen Stockton and Justine Arana paced Converge with 18 points apiece as the FiberXers greet the new conference with a sorry loss.
