With Bolick in command, the Road Warriors were off to a winning start after missing the playoffs in the season-opening Commissioner’s Cup.
Bolick, who was shipped to NLEX from NorthPort merely three months ago in the past conference, led all scorers while also adding five rebounds and five assists.
Rookie Enoch Valdez had 16 points to show for himself, while Anthony Semerad and Sean Anthony had 15 markers each in the extended action.
NLEX and NorthPort figured in a tightly contested affair the rest of the way until the Road Warriors unloaded a 6-0 finishing kick in overtime to pull away for good and seal the victory.
The Batang Pier, who were welcoming back best scorer Arvin Tolentino, Will Navarro and Zavier Lucero, couldn’t fit their key pieces right together and suffered a sorry loss after coming off from their quarterfinal exit last conference.
Tolentino paced NorthPort with 29 points and seven rebounds in the losing cause, while Allyn Bulandi had 19 markers.
Highly anticipated duo Lucero and Navarro, on the other hand, added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
