CEOs support campaign for IPO listing

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) has recently concluded its forum featuring chief executive officers of publicly-listed companies to give advice and encourage firms planning their own initial public offerings.

During the forum, dubbed Road to IPO: Embracing the Growth Mindset, the seven CEOs imparted words of wisdom to the PSE’s Listing Engagement and Assistance Program (LEAP) clients—business owners considering listing through an initial public offering.

The event showcased the launch of the Embracing the IPO Mindset video featuring CEOs of seven publicly listed companies (PLCs) who narrated why they chose to tap the stock market as a capital raising platform, how equity fund raising helped accelerate the growth of their companies, the advantages as well as the responsibilities of a PLC.

The seven CEOs include Cebu Landmasters, Inc. President and CEO Jose R. Soberano III, D&L Industries, Inc. President and CEO Alvin D. Lao, DoubleDragon Corporation President and CEO Edgar J. Sia II, Fruitas Holdings, Inc. President and CEO Lester C. Yu, Jollibee Foods Corporation President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong, Raslag Corp. President and CEO Peter G. Nepomuceno, and Wilcon Depot, Inc. President and CEO Lorraine Belo-Cincochan.

The Embracing the IPO Mindset video covers the reasons why the featured PLCs chose to the stock market as a capital raising platform, how the equity fund raising helped accelerate the growth of their companies, the advantages as well as the responsibilities of a PLC, and words of wisdom to business owners considering IPO listing.

“An IPO is a milestone endeavor for any company. The best advisers for entrepreneurs planning to go public are those who have experienced and taken the IPO route themselves,” said PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon.

He added that “I am grateful to the CEOs who participated in this initiative. Their invaluable advice will surely serve as guide and inspiration to our LEAP clients.”

To address the IPO queries and concerns of LEAP clients, a fireside chat with four of the seven featured PLCs was also held. Soberano of CLI, Lao of DNL, Belo-Cincochan of WLCON, and ASLAG Chief Finance Officer Robert Gerard B. Nepomuceno answered questions from the LEAP clients.

The event was graced by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino, who delivered the closing remarks. A stock market outlook for 2024 was given by Miguel Agarao, Vice President at Philequity Management, Inc. He also moderated the fireside chat.

PSE LEAP is a free hand-holding service provided by the Exchange to companies exploring the prospects of IPO listing.
