DOLE names Pasig City's PESO as best performing

The Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) awarded Pasig City's Public Employment Service Office (PESO) as the Best Performing PESO for 2023 on Thursday, February 29.

The city's PESO received two of the three PESO core function awards for Bracket 4 which includes five local government units with the highest population in the NCR.

Pasig City PESO Manager Jelene Sison-Lopez accepted the award during the PESO Association of Metro Manila Monthly Meeting at Casa De Polo in Valenzuela City.

The city was recognized for its achievements in Best in Labor Market Information (LMI) and Best in Referral and Placement.

The LMI is used by policy-making bodies such as DOLE-NCR for the development of programs, policies, and interventions to reduce labor underutilization such as unemployment and underemployment in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, referral and placement mean the provision of employment facilitation services such as job fairs and collaboration with the private sector in Pasig City which not only helps PasigueÃ±os but also helps in lowering the unemployment rate in Metro Manila.

The Pasig City PESO held a mega job fair to give more opportunities to PasigueÃ±o jobseekers wherein over 60 local and overseas jobs were offered.
