Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has recently been recognized for its high internet and Netflix streaming speeds based on analysis from tech data solutions firm Ookla and Netflix's speed index leaderboard.
According to Ookla's third to fourth quarter 2023 speed test and ratings data, Converge clinched the top ranking with an internet speed of 457.56 mbps. It also recorded a Speed Score of 123.18.
It also ranked high in video and gaming performance, scoring 86.58 and 88.27 respectively.
Given this, Converge won three awards in Ookla's Speedtest Awards for "Best Interne Gaming Experience," "Best Internet Video Experience," "Top-Rated Internet in the Philippines."
“Our path to this achievement was guided by the singular mission of answering the broadband needs of Filipinos. That is why, each year, we made leaps in technology innovation and product development, all to deliver excellent connectivity solutions to our subscribers," said Converge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony H. Uy.
Meanwhile, the telco ranked first in Netflix's speed index leaderboard for the eleven months of last year, with a speed of 3 mbps. For the whole of 2023, Converge had an average speed of 3.25 mpbs.
The index measures the performance of internet service providers (ISP) on the Netflix application, with better performance meaning better picture quality and reduced buffering.
“This year, our customers can look forward to the same high-quality, lossless, and seamless video experience they’ve come to expect from Converge. What most people don’t realize is that customers who have been with Converge since day one have been able to maximize and enjoy their content at the highest quality that Netflix offers, which is 4K Ultra HD viewing,” added Uy.
Currently, Converge has a fiber footprint of 682,000 kilometers, with 7.9 million fiber ports covering 77.85 percent of the country's population. It now has more than two million residential subscribers.
