Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Raffy Tulfo led the 2028 presidential survey, based on the survey conducted by big data research firm Tangere.

According to the survey results released on Thursday, Feb. 8, Duterte and Tulfo were statistically tied as the first choice for president if the 2028 elections were held today.

Tangere said they both received one-third of the preferential votes among 10 potential presidential candidates, with Duterte having a less than one percent advantage over Tulfo as voters' first choice for president.

Duterte was favored by 31.5 percent of the respondents, while Tulfo received 30.8 percent.

“VP Sara is the top choice for NCR [National Capital Region], Visayas, and Mindanao, while Sen. Tulfo is the top choice for Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon,” it pointed out.

They were followed “distantly” by former Vice President Leni Robredo (12 percent), Senator Grace Poe (10 percent), and former Manila Mayor “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (6 percent).

Other potential presidential candidates were Senator Imee Marcos (3 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (2 percent), Senator Risa Hontiveros (1 percent), former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson (1 percent), and Speaker Martin Romualdez (0.3 percent).

The remaining 4 percent provided names that were not on the list.

Tangere’s 2028 Presidential Survey had a sample size of 2,000 participants and was administered via a mobile-based respondent application from Jan. 20 to 24.

The proportion was distributed throughout the Philippines, with 12 percent from the National Capital Region, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
