TESDA to offer content creation course

The aims to help people make money online using available technology from home

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has announced that it created a content creation course and will include it in their vocational courses, taking advantage of the growing online income opportunities.

According to TESDA, the course aims to help people make money online using available technology from home. This course could also serve as a foundation for institutions to create suitable training programs.

TESDA Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu emphasized the need to provide content creators with essential skills for effectively communicating their messages and maintaining the quality of materials they share on different platforms.

“Virtual networks and communities have enabled us to connect with our audience, build brand awareness, and strengthen engagement. However, the effectiveness of our efforts relies heavily on the quality and relevance of the content we share. In light of this, our content creators must be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to produce compelling and engaging content,” Suharto said in statement published on TESDA's website.

Suharto encouraged vocational training centers to provide courses aligned with competency standards developed in collaboration with the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc.

The course aims to teach the skills on creating social media content to inform or entertain people, covering tasks like generating post ideas and turning them into multimedia content.

“Many of our kababayans are very talented and resourceful, and I am confident that if given the right skills, they will be better positioned to create content that resonate better with their audience, foster meaningful connections, and ultimately contribute significantly to society,” the secretary added.

The course include platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram for streaming. It also teaches photo, audio, and video editing, as well as using equipment such as a camera, chroma screen, microphone, and more.
