Quezon town mayor grants Valentine's Day leave

GENERAL LUNA, Quezon – Mayor Matt Erwin Florido here has once again granted a Valentine’s Day leave for single local government employees.

Florido signed executive order Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2024, granting the special privilege on Thursday, February 8.

The order says single employees can avail of a two-day special stress leave with pay or two days of double pay from February 15 to 16.

"You choose, if you want to enjoy a long weekend, file a two-day special stress leave with pay. It can be on the 15th and 16th of February 2024 after Valentine's Day so you can enjoy a super long weekend,” Florido said.

"If you still want to report to work after the stressful Valentine's Day, you have double pay for two days, February 15 and 16," Florido added.

Florido said no government funds will be used to pay this incentive like in the past years. Payment, he said, will be taken from personal money.
