Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan launched "Operation Birth Right," a program that accepts applications for late registration of birth certificates.

The program will cover residents aged 17 and below and will run until the end of February at no cost to the applicants.

The mayor said registrants should be Manila-born residents and must obtain the following documents:

  • Certificate of no record (PSA and LCR)
  • Birth certificate prepared by the hospital
  • Affidavit to use the father's surname
  • Marriage contract if parents are married
  • Photocopy of parents' valid identification cards

The City Civil Registry Office-Manila, under Encar Ocampo, will be undertaking the program.

"Ito ay libreng handog ng ating butihing Punong Lungsod Dra. Honey Lacuna-Pangan kasama ang Pangalawang Punong Lungsod Yul Servo- Nieto, kaagapay ang Civil Registry Office-Manila (This is a free gift from our good Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna-Pangan with the Vice Mayor Yul Servo-Nieto, along with the Civil Registry Office-Manila)," Ocampo said.

Lacuna-Pangan added that there will be no limit as to the number of applicants that will be processed, as long as they meet the deadline.
