Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) President Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co has blasted Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva for his "arrogance".
This was in connection with the latter's perceived belittling of members of the House of Representatives, including party-list solons, when compared to senators like him.
Further irking Co was Villanueva's dismissive "Who is he?" response to the challenge of House Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe for senators to reveal their stand on Charter change (Cha-cha).
"Unang-una si Senator Joel ho ay dati naman siyang party-list [congressman] and masyado ho atang mayabang ang ating senador. At alam naman ho natin kung sino siya," Co said in a "teleradyo" interview Wednesday, Feb. 8.
(First of all, Senator Joel is a former party-list congressman and he seems to be very arrogant. We all know who he is.)
Co went on to highlight controversies from Villanueva's past.

"Kilala naman ho natin si Senator Joel Villanueva kung sino siya e. Siya ho ay perpetually disqualified sa nadesisyunan ng Ombudsman. Pero mukhang na-apela ho niya," said the House Committee on Appropriations chairman.
(We know who Senator Joel Villanueva is. He had been perpetually disqualified based on a decision by the Ombudsman. But it looks like he managed to appeal it.)
"Pero alam ho niya, natin, na marami siyang kaso sa Ombudsman. And alam natin na best friend siya ni Napoles, barkada siyang todo ni Napoles," Co said, referring to Janet Lim Napoles.
(But he knows, like we know, that he has a lot of cases before the Ombudsman. And we know that he is the best friend of Napoles, he and Napoles are tight.)
Villanueva served as CIBAC Party-list representative in the House from 2002 to 2010.
