LRA transfers EMBO barangay property transactions to Taguig

The Taguig City government announced on Feb. 8 that the Land Registration Authority (LRA) has ordered the transfer of all transactions involving properties in EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays to its jurisdiction.

The LRA issued Administrative Order No. 2024-23 stating that “effective 01 January 2024, all transactions involving Parcels 3 and 4, Psu-2031 comprising Fort Bonifacio or the properties affected by the Supreme Court (SC) Decision dated 01 December 2021 (G.R. No. 235316) shall be transacted, lodged, submitted, presented, entered, registered, and/or processed in the Registry of Deeds (RD) of Taguig City.”

In a decision which became final last year, the Supreme Court transferred 10 EMBO barangays from Makati to Taguig.

The 10 EMBO barangays now under Taguig are Cembo, Comembo, East Rembo, Pembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside, Rizal, South Cembo and West Rembo.

“RD Makati City is enjoined from exercising jurisdiction over the properties. RD Taguig City is instructed to handle and process all transactions involving properties covered by the SC Decision. For inquiries, visit the Registry of Deeds at the 8th floor of SM Aura Tower in BGC, Barangay Fort Bonifacio,” the LRA said in the order.

The LRA “is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of Justice responsible for issuing decrees of registration and certificates of title and register documents, patents and other land transactions for the benefit of landowners, agrarian-reform beneficiaries and the registering public in general.”
