The Department of Tourism (DOT)-6 (Western Visayas) said that budget airline Royal Air Philippines has thrice-weekly flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Ningbo in China to the world-famous resort-island and back.
The newest route is to and from Ningbo.
These flights at Boracay Airport are the latest after international flights in Aklan resumed last June after pandemic travel restrictions were fully lifted.
Managed by TransAire Development Holdings Corp., a subsidiary of San Miguel Corp. (SMC), Boracay Airport is more accessible to the country’s most famous beach destination.
More than two million tourists visited Boracay last year.
The Boracay Airport is separate from the Kalibo Airport in the provincial capital of Kalibo.
