You can now enjoy halo-halo in the sky
Philippine Airlines is now serving the iconic Filipino dessert

When we think of Filipino eats foreigners should try, what usually comes to mind are savory dishes like sinigang, adobo, and the exotic balut. But in the dessert department, the iconic halo-halo dominates the list.
Usually sold by streetside food stalls, the cool treat features several ingredients, from soft jellies and tapioca pearls to sweetened bananas and purple yam (ube), making it a true celebration of Filipino flavors and produce. But now Pinoy and international travelers don't need to wait to be on the streets just to have a taste of it.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is on a mission to elevate its customers' flying experience by including the beloved dessert on its in-flight menu. It was first launched only on flights from Manila to San Francisco in September 2023 and Business Class to North America flights in December 2023. Now, it is a mainstay for its Business Class flights to the US Mainland and Canada, offering a unique in-flight culinary delight featuring the best Filipino flavors.
"PAL’s special halo-halo is pre-made with banana, langka, gulaman, beans, and coconut in the serving glass," the airline says in a statement. "Then, upon ordering, cabin crew members will finish the treat in-flight, adding ube halaya, leche flan, vanilla ice cream, pinipig, and shaved milk. The result? A refreshing experience for PAL’s Business Class passengers."
Truly, flying business class with PAL just got sweeter!
