House Speaker Martin Romualdez doesn't view lofty survey numbers as a "reward".
Romualdez shared this insight Tuesday, Feb. 7 even as his own trust and performance figures continued to their upward swing.
“While surveys serve as a gauge of public sentiment, they should never be viewed as a reward for our hard work. Instead, they serve as a reminder of the responsibility we bear as public servants to ensure that every action we take is in the best interest of the Filipino people,” he said.
Based on the results of the recent OCTA Research 4th quarter survey, Romualdez's trust rating increased by four percentage points to 64 percent, from 60 percent last October 2023.
This was the highest recorded increase in trust rating among the government officials included in the survey.
Meanwhile, Romualdez's performance rating also increased by four percentage points to 65 percent, from 61 percent during the previous survey.
“The trust bestowed upon us by the public fuels our commitment to work tirelessly in crafting legislation that addresses the needs and concerns of our fellow Filipinos. It reaffirms our belief that our efforts are making a positive impact on the lives of our constituents,” the leader of the 300-plus strong House of Representatives said.
“As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our dedication to serving the Filipino people with integrity, transparency and accountability. We recognize that our ultimate goal is to enact policies and initiatives that will uplift the lives of every Filipino and contribute to the progress and development of our nation,” added the Leyte 1st district congressman.
The OCTA Research survey covered 1,200 respondents aged 18 years old and above. It was conducted from Dec. 10 to 14 , 2023.
