The Parañaque city government launched PhilHealth Konsulta with more than 500 job order employees receiving free medical services on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said the PhilHealth Konsulta under the “Alagang Parañaque" for Universal Health Care (UHC) aimed to give free medical services, medicines, and facilitate the processing of Universal Health Care ID.
Olivarez, who is a registered nurse, also said that giving free medical services and medicines to the city’s job order employees is very important for them to be healthy and productive.
He said the program was launched as part of the celebration of the city’s 26th cityhood anniversary.
The mayor said the more than 500 job order employees received free consultation, laboratory, RBS (random blood sugar test), Xray test, and medicines.
Olivarez who was joined by his brother, Rep. Edwin Olivarez, said healthcare is not a privilege but a basic service that has to be given to all sectors in the city.
Aside from Rep. Olivarez, representatives from PhilHealth Edwin Francis Marasigan and Golda Agero, Ospital ng Parañaque Medical Director Patrick Cruz, Dr. Loreleigh Obed of Health Plan Office, and Dr. Olga Vertusio, chief of the City Health Office were also present during the launch.
