Police identified the victim as Benjur Libre Sr., 48, of Barangay Suba.
Police Major Ronald Santillan, Calatrava police chief, said the victim was about to park his motorcycle when two unidentified men arrived on board a motorcycle arrived.
One of the suspects shot the victim in the head.
Libre died on the spot and the suspects fled, Santillan said.
Santillan believed that the perpetrators tailed the victim who was released from jail on Friday, February 2, after posting bail for his frustrated murder case.
Police have yet to establish the motive of the killing.
Santillan said they are exploring all angles and do not discount the possibility that it could have something to do with his case.
