A MAGNITUDE-5.9 earthquake rocked Ilocos Norte past noon on Wednesday, with epicenter in Pagudpud.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake struck at 12:05 p.m.
Its epicenter was located 16 kilometers west of Pagudpud.
The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers and was tectonic in origin or caused by the movement of the earth’s crust.
It had an instrumental intensity of six in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte and four in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
Phivolcs expects damages and aftershocks from the earthquake.
No damage was reported by the provincial government as of posting time.
