LOOK: This four-year-old Filipino actress is set to portray 'Tam' in Miss Saigon
Cassidy Lorenzana will also be joined by other Filipino child actors

Cassidy Gianna Lorenzana, the four-year-old daughter of actor Guji Lorenzana and interior designer Cheska Nolasco Lorenzana, will portray Tam in Miss Saigon. Auditions for the role of the Filipino child actress were held in January.
“The character is male-identifying, of Vietnamese heritage with a playing age of three years,” GMG Productions said about the character.
According to the producers, the role can be portrayed by any gender aged four to eight, requiring those with long hair to cut their hair if cast for the musical.

Cassidy will be joined by Filipino child actors Anderson Bonita, Keone Buenaluz, Dylan De Ocampo, and Enzo Isaac, taking turns in bringing the character Tam to life, who was originally depicted as male.
GMG Productions announced on Feb. 6 that Miss Saigon has been extended until May 12, 2024. “Due to the incredible response from the Filipino audiences, we are adding one week of performances with no further extensions,” GMG Production said.
Inspired by Giacomo Puccini's 1904 opera Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon, created by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, features the love story between an American sergeant named Chris and a Vietnamese bar girl named Kim during the 1970s Vietnam War.
The Asian tour will be led by the cast including Filipino-Australian actress Abigail Adriano as Kim, Seann Miley Moore as the Engineer, Nigel Huckle as Chris, Laurence Mossman as Thuy, Sarah Morrison as Ellen, Lewis Francis as John, and Filipina performer Kiara Dario also joins the international touring company as Gigi.
Miss Saigon will premiere in the Philippines starting March 23, 2024 at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.
