The biggest multi-arts festival in the country collaborates with Metro Manila museums for a cultural and artistic experience, offering insights into Philippine history, heritage, contemporary arts, and more.
With Paseo Museo, you can visit numerous museums and galleries by paying and donating what you can. By using the CCP shuttle van to explore 15 museums and galleries exploring the hop-on, hop-off museum tours of CCP Pasinaya’s Paseo Museo on Feb. 3 and 4.
1. National Museum of the Philippines
The National Museum of Fine Arts features displays of art by classical Filipino masters, National Artists for the Visual Arts, prominent Modernist painters, sculptors, and printmakers. View and admire famous masterpieces like Juan Luna's "Spoliarium" and Félix Resurrección Hidalgo's "The Assassination of Governor Bustamante."
2. Fort Santiago and Casa Manila
Explore the Fort Santiago and Rizal Shrine Museum to see Dr. Jose Rizal's belongings, and visit Casa Manila to witness its historical bahay na bato design.
3. GSIS Museum
The GSIS Museum, founded in 1996, displays a valuable art collection, including pieces by famous Filipino artists like Fernando Amorsolo's "History of Philippine Music" mural, alongside exhibits featuring emerging local talents.
4. Galleria Duemila
Founded in 1975, Galleria Duemila is recognized as one of the oldest art galleries in Manila. The gallery focuses on showcasing contemporary artists from the Philippines and other ASEAN countries, as well as renowned modern masters like Fernando Amorsolo, Fernando Zobel, Jose Joya, H.R. Ocampo, and more.
5. Asian Institute of Maritime History (Museo Maritimo)
Discover the history of Philippine seafaring and marine culture by exploring Museo Maritimo's collection of marine art, ship models, and nautical artifacts.
6. Museo Marino
Museo Marino showcases the history and stories of the seafaring group AJSU-AMOSUP, honoring the well-being of Filipino sailors with exhibits featuring replicas of the ships they work on, including cargo and car carrier vessels.
7. Manila Clocktower Museum
Architect Antonio Toledo created the famous clock tower in the 1930s. It's 100 feet tall, located at Manila City Hall, and became a museum in 2022. The Manila Clocktower Museum offers an immersive experience about Manila's history, with changing exhibits in visual arts, design, and fashion.
8. PWU SFAD Gallery
Situated within the Philippine Women’s University, the Gallery at the School of Fine Arts and Design regularly exhibits art created by PWU alumni, students, faculty, and organizations. It serves as a studio gallery, functioning as a space for academic study, artistic exploration, and inquiry.
9. Museum of Contemporary Arts and Design (MCAD)
Discover modern art shows and other cultural and art-related events featuring the potential of technology and new media at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design.
10. Adamson University Museum
The Adamson University Museum consists of two parts: the Vincentian Wing, which displays the university's history from 1964 to the present, and the Founder's Wing, which showcases the life of the university's founder, Dr. George Lucas Adamson, and the early years of the Adamson School of Industrial Chemistry and Engineering.
11. Destileria Limtuaco Museum
Explore the long history of the oldest distillery in the Philippines, learning about its heritage and the people who have driven its success for over a century.
12. Bahay Tsinoy
Gain insights into the cultural identity of the Chinese-Filipino community at the Kaisa-Angelo King Heritage Center in Bahay Tsinoy. The museum records the history, lives, and contributions of the ethnic Chinese in the Philippines.
13. CCA Benilde
The Center for Campus Art at De La Salle – College of St. Benilde investigates the connections between art, design, society, communities, and the environment by showcasing artists from various fields and collaborating with Benilde students.
14. Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art
This year, Pasinaya travels to Iloilo City. People joining the festival can explore the Visayas region's first museum devoted to modern and contemporary art, called the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA).
15. Film Development Council of the Philippines Cinematheques
Enjoy a diverse range of films at the FDCP Cinematheques in Manila and Iloilo City, which serve as alternative theaters with a variety of content.
CCP Pasinaya's Paseo Museo tours will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 3 and 4, 2024. The multi-arts festival takes place at CCP Complex, Circuit Makati, partner museums and galleries in Metro Manila, ILOMOCA in Iloilo City, and Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
