ILOILO CITY – Starpay Corp. has joined the Paleng-QR PH Plus cashless payment program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in this city.

“We support the efforts of the BSP to boost the digital financial system. At Starpay, we want to enable the unbanked and underbanked – marginalized Filipinos – to participate in the financial ecosystem and benefit from the digital economy through inclusive innovation,” said Ryan Uy, head of Starpay Growth and Marketing.
Starpay offers digital payment solutions and money movement capabilities with e-wallets, disbursements, and collections services for the public markets and the tricycle industry here.
“Let us try to use this digital payment because this is for us,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas during the launching.
An initial 1,625 vendors at the Iloilo Terminal Market and 1,870 tricycle drivers are using Starpay.
Uy said using Starpay is a sanitary and convenient way to transact as well as prevent the spread of fake money.
Also present during the launching were Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon here, BSP Western-Visayas Director Anna Clara Oville, and BSP-Iloilo Branch Area Director Joanne Marie Castelo.
