BACOLOD CITY – Thirteen houses were hit by a fire on San Juan St., Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 here on Wednesday, February 7.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod, 11 houses were destroyed and two others were partially damaged.
The blaze broke out around 2:15 p.m., affecting a floor area of 1,000-square meters.
Senior Fire Officer 4 Jereck Barbas, ground commander of the BFP, said they are initially looking into electrical as the possible cause of the blaze, which affected 13 families.
Barbas said that two children were sleeping at home but they were able to leave their burning house before the fire grew bigger.
The fire immediately spread to neighboring houses made of mixed concrete and light materials, he added.
Fire out was declared at 2:34 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Damage to property was placed at P1.5 million.
