QC gov't issues traffic advisory for Chinese New Year celebration

The Quezon City government issued a traffic advisory on Monday, Feb. 5, in preparation for the celebration of Chinese New Year.

Motorists were informed about road closures and re-routing along five roads in the city during the celebration.
The public were advised that the following roads will be closed from 9 p.m. on Feb. 8 to 2 p.m. on Feb 11:
• Del Monte Avenue corner Matutum Street
• G. Roxas Street corner Banawe Street
• Linaw Street corner Matutum Street
• Banawe Avenue corner Sta. Catalina Street
• Sta. Catalina Street corner Linaw Street
The local government encouraged motorists to take the following alternative routes:

All vehicles coming from Banaue Avenue going to Sgt. Rivera shall turn right at Sta. Catalina St., then turn left to Biak na Bato St. to the destination.
Motorists coming from Banawe Avenue towards Quezon Avenue were instructed to turn right to G. Roxas St., then turn left at Matutum St., straight to the point of destination.
All vehicles coming from Del Monte Avenue going to Mayon St. shall turn right at Biak na Bato St., then turn left at G. Roxas St., straight to the point of destination.
Motorists coming from Del Monte Avenue towards Sto. Domingo Avenue shall take right at Matutum St., then turn left at Sta. Catalina St., to the point of destination.
In addition, Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) going to A. Bonifacio or Mayon St. shall turn to Sto. Domingo Avenue, then left at G. Roxas St., straight to the point of destinations.
PUVs going to Sto. Domingo Avenue or G. Araneta Avenue shall turn right to Cordillera St., then turn left to Sta. Catalina St., to the point of destinations.

Personnel of the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) have coordinated to manage the traffic flow in areas of activities.
