ILOILO CITY – Shabu worth P1.5 million was seized from two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Molo District here on Monday, February 5.

Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., Iloilo City Police Office-City-Drug Enforcement Unit chief, identified the suspects as Teresa Olmido Pagunaling and Rey Villaruel Hermano. Seized from them were 225 grams of suspected shabu.
Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said the DEU was backed up by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) of the Police Regional Office-6, ICPO-Molo Police Station, the Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

This successful operation is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our police force in protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs, said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director.
Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, added the operation was recorded by two body cameras.
Suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
