LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) and 22 component local government units bagged the 2023 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Awardees were Adams, Bacarra, Badoc, Bangui, Banna, City of Batac, Burgos, Carasi, Currimao, Dingras, Dumalneg;
Laoag City, Marcos, Nueva Era, Paoay, Pasuquin, Piddig, Pinili, San Nicolas, Sarrat, Solsona, and Vintar.
According to the DILG-Ilocos Norte, the GFH award is granted to LGUs that demonstrate adherence to accounting and auditing standards as well as compliance with the rules and regulations set by the Commission on Audit.
The GFH entails compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy of the DILG which mandates the posting of all requisite financial documents as outlined in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-39.
The provincial government and the 22 towns also received same award last year.
