By participating in the expo which started on February 2 and ends February 5, they were able to showcase what they can offer to tourists, said Apple Marie Agolong, tourism officer of Dapitan.
“Zamboanga del Norte was able to market its tourist attractions while Dapitan also promoted its own products. Private stakeholders from Glorious Fantasyland and Dakak Park and Resort were also there to showcase what they can offer to their guests,” said Agolong.
Agolong promoted Dapitan’s tourism packages in a speech – the Visitamos Rizal and Unlimited FunDapitan (Unlifudap).
She said the Visitamos Rizal is a tour worth P11,000 but is being offered for P1,500 for students while the Unlifudap is for non-students that is being offered for P1,900.
“They have the same inclusions, they will be picked up from their point of origin if the group reaches 50 persons. They will have city tour and will be checked at Dakak or GFL Suites. It will also have an overnight stay with two free meals,” Agolong said.
“The tour will also include a visit at Glorious Fantasyland in which visitors can experience the ‘Snow World’ which is the biggest in the Philippines and the scariest horror house, the Lakbay Pinas where they can see the whole grab of Jose Rizal and Josephine Bracken,” added Agolong.
Agolong said Visitamos Rizal is not just showcasing tourist spots in Dapitan but is also about educating the visitors of history.
Dapitan is rich in history as Rizal lived the life of a political exile in the city for four years, Agolong said.
“Please join us in this cause, the Visitamos Rizal cause. This is a way of enticing the people who already forgot about history, who already forgot about Rizal to finally go to Dapitan and pay homage to the shrine of our national hero,” said Agolong.
