The Vice President visited Cebu City last Friday, Feb. 2, to check on learners at the Pasil Elementary School.

“Ipinaabot nila sa akin ang kanilang saloobin sa patuloy na pagpapatupad ng K-12 (They told me their concerns about the continuous implementation of the K-12),” Duterte said in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 5.

“Sa ngayon, patuloy ang ginagawang pag-aaral at konsultasyon ng House of Representatives katuwang ang Department of Education tungkol dito (For now, the House of Representatives with the Department of Education continue to study and consult regarding this),” she added.

The official thanked Cebuanos for their warm welcome as many even lined the streets to greet her.

“Malapit po talaga sa aking puso ang Cebu hindi lamang po dahil dito nanggaling ang aking ama, kundi dahil iba po talaga magmahal ang mga Cebuanos (Cebuanos are really close to my heart not only because my father is from here, but because Cebuanos are extraordinary when it comes to love),” she said.

Duterte added that she draws strength from her supporters as she promised to continue delivering quality public service.

The Vice President was in Pasil Elementary School, one of the more than 60 public elementary schools in Cebu City, to check on the implementation of her department's learning recovery program.

Duterte joined the classrooms of Grades 1, 4 and 6 students to observe how the teachers rolled out the lesson.

She even stood as the class teacher and guided students in solving math problems.
