Western Visayas' 9th most wanted caught

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a 19-year-old man wanted for rape in Barangay Rumirang, Isabela, Negros Occidental on Monday, February 5.

The suspect tagged as the ninth most wanted person in Western Visayas was a member of the Yunit Militia of Central Negros (CN) 1, Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (KR-NCBS) of the New People’s Army (NPA), the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas said.

Warrant of arrest with no bail recommended was issued by Presiding Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on January 23.

The tracker team of the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (Nocpmfc) led the operation with the Isabela Municial Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-6, and the 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing of the Philippine Air Force.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, director of PRO-Western Visayas, cited lawmen for their accomplishment that came days after the Isabela municipal police station also arrested a 19-year-old man tagged as region’s fifth most wanted person for rape and violation of Republic Act 9995 (Section 4(A) and Section 4(D) of Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, in Barangay Bulad.
