VP Duterte's Chinese New Year wish: Good health, success, renewed hope

Vice President Sara Duterte conveyed to the Chinese and Filipino-Chinese communities her “warmest wishes for a joyous and prosperous Lunar New Year” as they prepare to mark the beginning of the celebrations for the Chinese New Year.

In a video message shown during the party, the Vice President greeted those celebrating around the world.
“Congratulations to Ambassador Huang Xilian and his team for organizing the Embassy’s celebration,” she said.
“May the Year of the Dragon marked by its powerful symbol of strength and renewal bring us all good health, success, and renewed hope,” Duterte added.
In the Chinese lunar calendar, 2024 ushers in the Year of the Dragon, which is believed to symbolize ambition, energy, and charisma.
Additionally, those who will be born in the Year of the Dragon are considered natural leaders, confident, and unafraid to take risks.
“As we embark on this new cycle, let us seize the opportunity to strengthen our bonds, promote understanding, and work together towards a harmonious future for all,” Duterte said.
She ended her message by greeting everyone a “Happy New Year” and “Happy Chinese New Year” in Mandarin.
