VIRAL: Mom battling cancer releases final song for son
Asks followers to stream to support his needs when she's gone
Content creator and musician, Cat Janice, has captivated the hearts of millions of internet users with her inspiring story. She penned and released a song that was inspired by her 7-year-old son, Loren, whom she feared she might leave behind due to her battle with cancer.
In a TikTok video she shared on Nov. 12, 2022, Cat bravely opened up about her cancer journey. She described how it all began in November 2021 with a “small lump on her neck that progressively grew larger and harder.”
After discovering that she had a rare tumor on her neck, the singer-songwriter underwent a series of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. On April 5, 2023, she joyfully announced that she was cancer-free.
Cat's followers were shocked when she revealed in June of the following year that her cancer had returned, this time affecting her lungs. Despite the setback, Cat remained resilient and determined. She continued creating music and content on her social media accounts.
In January of this year, Cat bravely updated her followers, sharing that her battle with cancer had taken a turn for the worse. In an emotional post where she struggled to breathe, she expressed gratitude for the love she had received and requested her followers to pre-save her song "Dance You Outta My Head" in her bio and stream it, as all proceeds would go directly to supporting her son.
“Thank you for loving me. I'm praying a miracle makes me through this but I think I'm being called home. My last joy would be if you pre-save my song “Dance You Outta My Head” in my bio and stream it because all proceeds go straight to my 7 year old boy I’m leaving behind,” she wrote, accompanied by a video where she clearly struggled to breathe.
“Please please share this, I need to leave this with him. If there is anything you need to know, it is that the only opinion of yourself is your opinion. Love yourself and be gentle with others. I hope to make it through this but, if not, to all a good night.”
Cat's heartfelt post touched the hearts of many, and her song "Dance You Outta My Head" even achieved a spot on the Top 40 Billboard chart.
Overwhelmed by the support she received, Cat expressed her shock and gratitude for becoming a “Top 40 Billboard Charting artist in the Hot Dance/Electronic genre, as well as reaching the impressive number 11 spot in Digital Sales.”

She credits her fans for making her dream come true and giving her a renewed sense of purpose. Despite the challenges she faced, Cat felt loved and appreciated by her fans, and she remains grateful for every moment she had.
