Still worthy even without 'jowa'
PCW inspires women to embrace singlehood as a valid life choice
As Valentine's Day approaches, it sparks discussions about love and relationships among friends and coworkers --- with single women often becoming the inadvertent focal point.

While love is an involuntary emotion, stepping into a romantic relationship is voluntary --- it is a choice.
As the love month unfolds, many women might feel pressured to respond to common questions about why they are not in a relationship yet.
Some may be repeatedly asked about their partner preferences, teased, and subtly threatened with the idea of growing old alone.
Being single is a choice
In a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 5, single women found an ally as the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) reaffirmed that a woman's worth is not defined by her relationship status.
"Being single is a choice!" PCW said.
"Whether you choose to date, enter a relationship, get married, start a family, or stay single, it's ultimately your decision," PCW noted.
"Do not feel compelled to find a relationship or settle down just because of external pressure," it added.
PCW also acknowledged that some may not be ready for a partner, still healing from past wounds, or focused on their careers without immediate plans for a relationship.
"Tandaan, hindi nasusukat ang halaga mo sa relationship status mo (Remember, your worth is not measured by your relationship status), PCW said as it offered support and empowerment to women --- regardless of their current romantic situation.
