2 Binondo streets temporarily closed due to fallen telco post
Two streets in Binondo, Manila were temporarily closed to motorists on Sunday morning, Feb. 4, due to a fallen telephone company (telco) post on Sabino Padilla Street.

The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) said that a truck accidentally pulled and broke the telco post in half on Saturday night, Feb. 3, which resulted in a loss of internet connection in the area as well as the temporary closure of Sabino Padilla and Quentin Paredes Streets.
Meanwhile, as of 11:50 a.m., on Sunday, MTPB Chief Dennis Viaje said that the closed portion was already passable to vehicles, except the half street of Quentin Paredes Street.
The telco contractors have been dispatched to the area to remove the damaged post and its fallen cables.
The streets will reopen once they are deemed passable and safe for vehicles and passersby.
Authorities said no one was hurt while the internet connection in the affected areas has yet to be restored.
The truck driver was brought to the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) for investigation.
