LPA outside PAR dissipates, easterlies bring rain showers to parts of VisMin
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored outside the country's area of responsibility (PAR) has dissipated and does not bring any effect to the country anymore said the state-run weather bureau on Saturday, Feb. 3.

However, in the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration's (PAGASA) latest live broadcast, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the two dominant weather systems affecting the country remain the easterlies and the northeast monsoon locally known as "amihan."
PAGASA said Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Dominguez said the northeast monsoon, which brings cold winds from the north has "weakened" and is now only affecting the northern Luzon.
In Cagayan Valley and Aurora, cloudy skies with light rains will be felt, while the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon.
Moreover, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
The public was also warned to be wary of flash floods or landslides that may occur in the affected areas during severe thunderstorms.
