Away from the limelight, award-winning actress Aiai Delas Alas is enjoying a normal life in San Francisco, which she considers her second home. She thinks she has fully adjusted to living abroad with her husband Gerald Sibayan.

Pinagtatawanan nila ako na nagpa-plantsa," said Aiai during a Zoom with the entertainment press for her upcoming concert sponsored by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

(I am used to doing everything myself here, from driving and grocery shopping to laundry. They make fun of me when I iron my clothes.)

Gusto ko maganda silang tignan at nakatupi," the comedienne said.

Ang work niya kasi hanggang gabi. Minsan 9 or 10 pm so ako talaga yung magluluto para sa kanya," the comedienne said.

AiA is also capable of cooking food for the household.

(I prepare two types of food every day: for myself and for them. They are happy with what I cook for them.)

One of her most significant experiences during her stay in the United States was the opportunity to drive on the freeway. This event gave her a valuable and meaningful experience she will always cherish.

Thank you, Lord," she added.

(I'm very adjusted here. Even when driving. But sometimes, I make mistakes when driving. It's different when you're a California driver. Others think I drive slowly. I'm nervous, especially on the freeway when the car speeds up. Sometimes I scream. I keep myself strong. I used to drive far and wide on side streets, but now I know how to drive on the freeway. Thank you, Lord.)

Aiai also mentioned that she is accustomed to having no maids or assistants in the United States.

Pero na-adjust ko na after two years. Natanggap ko na ang katotohanan ng buhay."

(When we were in Virginia, I was still crying. My angels are here, and I'm just going to eat. But now I'm the one who cooks before I can eat. But I've adjusted after two years. I've accepted the realities of life.)

PAGCOR shows

On Feb. 8, Aiai is returning to the Philippines for a series of shows sponsored by PAGCOR.

"Uuwi ako ng Pilipinas para sa show. Hindi ko tuloy siya nakakasama pag Valentine's Day pero kasi blessing ito so uuwi ako ng Feb. 8 dahil may show kami sa Feb. 10 (Bacolod), 14 (Angeles City), 16 (Cebu City) and 17 (Tagaytay City) sa Pagcor.

"Ang guest ko sa Cebu and Bacolod si Jong Madaliday, ang second placer sa The Clash Season 1; sa Angeles and Tagaytay, si Rex Baculfo, yung champion ng Season 5. Puro The Clashers," she announced.

Aiai said she's happy for the "The Clash" winners, who are now making waves.

Sisikat yan doon.

First time kong makakasama ang mga 'The Clashers' in one show eh," she added.

AiAi said she's looking forward to being part of "The Clash" on GMA Network later this year.

"I look forward to 'The Clash' in August. Kaya medyo busy rin ako at may shows din ako rito sa US in April, June and July. So pagdating ko dyan sa Pilipinas September, October, November, 'The Clash' naman. Busy ako. Praise God!

"Year ko ngayon and I claim it — the year of the Dragon kaya high na high ako ngayon hindi sa drugs huh. Triumphant ako this year kasi year ko ngayon: wood dragon," she said.

On TV series, Aiai said: "Before two shows ako a year. Pero ngayon its either 'The Clash' or isa pa kasi kailangan ko talaga mag-stay sa US. Gusto ko kasi maging US citizen so sayang naman yung pag-stay ko rito in so many years tapos hindi ko rin mana makukuha. I think 2025 puwede na ako mag-apply for US citizenship.

Aiai hinted at making another movie this year.
