Taguig LGU to charge fees, require permits for concerts, bazaars, mall sales, parades
The Taguig City government will now charge fees and will require permits for special events in the city including concerts, fan meetings, bazaars, and mall sales.
This is based on a new special events permit ordinance that the Taguig City Council passed.

“Special events are planned activities that are conducted in whole or in part on public property not in its normal use or any activity in public or private property that may have an impact on city services, resources, neighborhoods, or businesses,” the city government announced.
It said special events must secure a special events permit at least five days before an event is held in the city.
Here are the events covered by the new ordinance and the corresponding fees to be paid for the permit:
ATHLETIC EVENTS - P3,000 to P10,000 per event

The Taguig City government warned that “failure to adhere to the ordinance may result in the closure of the event, accompanied by a fine ranging from one thousand pesos (P1,000) to five thousand pesos (P5,000), and/or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six (6) months or both, as determined by the appropriate court.”
It said the new ordinance is meant to ensure the safety of the special event’s participants, secure vehicular and pedestrian traffic, improve the environmental sustainability of events, and reduce the temporal and locational conflict between events.
The requirements must be submitted to the Taguig Business Permits and Licensing Office, which will assess and issue the permit if approved.
“Applications must be filed with supporting documents at least five (5) working days before the event. However, if the event requires special services, the application should be filed fifteen (15) working days before the event,” the city government added.
It said, “If food, beverages, or physical articles will be sold at the event, provide a list of vendors present at the event and a food handling permit/health certificate issued by the City Health Office.”
“Declare in the application if the event involves music, dance, or any other form of entertainment activity that requires sound amplification during the event, and provide assurance to abide by the city’s noise regulations,” the city said.
Exempted from the special permit are “activities and/or events including those conducted by the City and/or Government, funeral processions, and religious processions and events.”
