Robbery suspect yields gun, victim's mobile phone in QC
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested on Wednesday, February 28, a 33-year-old man who robbed a person at gunpoint in Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City.

QCPD identified the suspect as Jerry Santiago, a resident of Barangay Balon Baton, Quezon City.
The suspect was arrested by the responding personnel of Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) following the victim's telephone call report.
According to the victim, on Tuesday, February 27, at around 10:35 a.m., he was at the parking lot on Quirino Highway in Barangay Talipapa when the suspect suddenly appeared.
He said that the suspect pointed a gun at his back and declared a holdup.
The suspect forcibly took the victim's mobile phone and immediately fled towards Quirino Highway.
Responding police pursued the suspect who was cornered on Santa Sabina Street in Barangay Talipapa.
Police confiscated from the suspect the mobile of the victim and an unlicensed pistol with three live ammunition.
In a media interview, the suspect denied that he owns the gun, saying his companion asked him to sell it.
The suspect is now detained at PS-3 and will be charged with robbery and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
