QC cops nab carnapping suspect, recover 2 motorcycles in Cavite
The Quezon City Police District on Wednesday, February 28, arrested a man allegedly involved in carnapping in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Maj. Hector Ortencio, Chief of the District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU), identified the suspect as Mark Anthony Tan, 40, a resident of Imus, Cavite.
Tan was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by DACU at around 9:00 a.m. in Dasmariñas.

Based on the report, victim Argie Abit reported to the DACU office on February 27 that his Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle was stolen in front of No. 157 Boni Serrano 10th Ave., Brgy. Soccoro, Quezon City.
Authorities launcched an operation to apprehend the suspect
On February 28, at around 6:00 a.m., the police received information that the carnapped motorcycle was seen along Brgy. Salitran III, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Police spotted the suspect riding the stolen motorcycle while talking with two unidentified male persons who were also on board another motorcycle.
Upon sensing the presence of the authorities, they quickly alighted from their motorcycles and sped off. However, the suspect was cornered and arrested.
Operatives confiscated from the suspect a Suzuki Raider 150 and one (1) unit of Honda ADV motorcycle.
The suspect will be charged for violation of R.A. 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
