The Parañaque City government distributed assistance to 217 families who were victims of a fire that broke out on Tuesday night, Feb. 27, in Barangay San Isidro.
Mayor Eric Olivarez, his brother Congressman Edwin Olivarez, and Councilor Paolo Olivarez led the distribution of assistance to the 217 families displaced by the fire.
Olivarez said the victims are temporarily sheltered at Area I, United Parañaque Subdivision (UPS)-V covered court .
He said the city government distributed mats, blankets, clothes, hygiene kits, food packs, and financial assistance to the victims.
The office of Councilor Paolo Olivarez and the Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region also gave assistance to the victims.
Olivarez said the fire hit a crowded neighborhood along Luba St., Luba St., Lovewin Compound, United Paranaque (UPS)–5 at around 7:02 p.m. and was declared fire out at 3:17 a.m.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) placed the damage to property at P800,000 while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
