Oks sa tax! Pasig City recognizes city's top taxpayers

The Pasig City Treasurer's Office gave due recognition to the city's top taxpayers for the year 2023 at an awarding ceremony held on Tuesday, February 27, at The Grove by Rockwell.

With the theme "One of the Pillars of Progress: Honoring our Tax Contributors," the event was attended by city government officials led by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto.

"Bukod sa pagkilala sa top taxpayers, layunin din ng awarding ceremony ang pagpapaabot ng pasasalamat sa mga ito para sa kanilang pagbabayad ng wastong buwis sa wastong oras - na talaga namang malaking tulong para sa patuloy na pagpapabuti pa ng mga programa at protekto ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Pasig para sa mga PasigueÃ±o at mga namumuhunan dito (Aside from recognizing the city's top taxpayers, the awarding ceremony also aims to express the local government unit's (LGU) gratitude to these people for their efforts in paying the correct taxes and on time which greatly help the city government of Pasig to launch and further improve its programs and projects for PasigueÃ±os and its investors)," the LGU said.

The awarding ceremony differed from previous recognition rites as not only big taxpayers were feted but also sole proprietors (business taxes) and individuals (real property taxes) for their commendable contribution in helping the city reach its target collection last year.

As the representative of the top taxpayer awardees, Atty. Isagani Elias Elacio, External Affairs Head and Legal Manager of Ortigas Company and Ltd. Partnership, which won as overall top taxpayer from the Business and Real Property Taxes - Corporation, delivered a message on behalf of the other awardees.

City Administrator Atty. Jeronimo Manzanero delivered the closing remark.
