Jail guards are under investigation following the escape of Gabriel Carlo Paclibare Tabon at around 3 p.m.

“Heads will roll,” said Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, ICPO chief.

Tabon, 34, from Pasig City, was able to get out after he was allegedly allowed by the custodial officer to clean the facility.

Police only noted that Tabon has escaped when he could not be found 45 minutes later.

Coronica tapped Police Lt. Col. Marlon Valencia, ICPO City Investigation and Detective Management Unit chief, to probe the escape.

Under investigation are two lawmen with the ranks of chief master sergeant and staff sergeant.

Police Major Eduardo Siacon, chief of the Jaro Police Station, will also be probed.

“We will file the appropriate charges, whether criminal or administrative,” Coronica said in a press conference on Thursday, February 29.

A manhunt operation for Tabon is ongoing and Coronica urged the public to report to the police via its official Facebook page if they see the suspect.
