Doctor-turned-congressman Peter Miguel says the public can avail of free services at his mini-clinic inside his office in the House of Representatives in Batasan, Quezon City.
Don't ask for gluta drips though, because he doesn't do that thing.
"I'm really a practicing doctor before I became a politician. Naging adbokasiya ko po before ako naging politiko (It was my advocacy before I became a poltician) or public servant to serve the community through free service," the South Cotabato 2nd district representative said in a press conference Wednesday, Feb. 28.
"Ako pa ay isang (I am an) Ears, Nose, Throat (ENT), head and neck surgeon specialist. So mayroon akong gamit dyan (So I have the equipment for that). I can capably check you up," added Miguel.
Miguel said he has also served his fellow House members, but declined to identify them due to doctor-patient confidentiality.
Asked if he had been requested to administer intravenous glutathione (IV gluta) drips before in his office-clinic, he answered in the negative.
"Wala pong nagtatanong pero actually hindi ako magdi-drip po dyan, I'll just stick with my speciality dahil doon po ako mas magaling," the Mindanao solon said.
(Nobody has asked me but actually I wouldn't do drips there. I'll just stick with my speciality because that's where I'm good at.)
Senator Robinhood Padilla and his wife, Mariel drew flak recently after the latter had an IV gluta drip session at the Senate. The gluta drip was reportedly carried out unsupervised by a doctor.
The Padilla couple are showbiz personalities.
Miguel says his office-clinic is open during House session days, which are Mondays to Wednesdays.
