PRC releases February 2024 licensure exam results for mechanical engineers, plant mechanics

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the results of the licensure examination for mechanical engineers and plant mechanics.

PRC said 4,458 out of 6,770 examinees who took the mechanical engineering licensure exam passed with a 65.8 percent passing rate.

Meanwhile, 65 out of 108 examinees for plant mechanics examinees, or 60.1 percent, passed the February 2024 licensure examination.

Rey Mediana Arcabal, of the University of Mindanao-Davao, emerged as the top scorer in the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination (MELE) with an average of 93.45 percent.

Aaron Gabriel Ilao Sigue of Technological University of the Philippines-Manila scored the highest on the Certified Plant Mechanics Licensure Examination (CPMLE), with an average of 88.6 percent.

Moreover, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-Cagayan De Oro, with an average passing percentage of 97.33 percent, ranked first among universities with 75 or more examinees and at least an 80 percent passing percentage in the MELE.

Meanwhile, with an average of 92.31 percent, Technological University of the Philippines-Manila took first place in the CPMLE.

The February 2024 MELE and CPMLE was administered by the Board of Mechanical Engineering, headed by chairman Leandro A. Conti and members Jerico T. Borja and Lorenzo P. Larion.

The examination was held on Feb. 20, 21 and 22 in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

Successful examinees interested in participating in the face-to-face mass oath-taking must register no later than noon on the day preceding the scheduled oath-taking date. Register at http://online.prc.gov.ph to confirm attendance.

For those unable to attend the mass oath-taking, the option to join the virtual oath-taking or request a special oath-taking is available. The schedule will be posted on the official website once confirmed.

To schedule an online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph, choose "e-OATH" as the transaction.

Online registration will close five calendar days before the online oath-taking day.

Furthermore, participants must print the "Oath of Professional" form, downloadable from the PRC official website under PRC Online Services.

After the oath-taking, inductees should proceed with the Initial Registration by securing an online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph.
