PDEA nets P408,000 shabu in Leyte buy-bust

MACARTHUR, Leyte â€“ Suspected shabu worth P408,000 was seized from a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Casuntingan here on Wednesday, February 28.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-8 (Eastern Visayas) identified the suspect as Marlon Belleza, 41, a resident of Barangay Casuntingan.

Belleza, a high-value target by the PDEA-8, was apprehended after he sold 0.54 grams of shabu in a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet to a poseur-buyer.

Seized from the suspect were four small sachets and medium sachets of shabu with a total weight of more or less 60 grams and an estimated street value of P408,000.

Belleza faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Abuyog Municipal Police Station and police here assisted the PDEA in the operation.
